HyperEVM splits transactions into two lanes with very different speed and gas limits. Understanding this is the difference between an instant trade and a stuck one.
| Small Blocks | Big Blocks | |
|---|---|---|
| Produced every | ~1 second | ~1 minute |
| Gas limit | ~3,000,000 | ~30,000,000 |
| Best for | Buying, selling, approvals | Creating a coin (new pool) |
This is a per-wallet setting, not per-transaction. Whichever mode your wallet is in, ALL of its transactions go through that lane until you switch back — so switching is something you do once before launching, and once again after.
Creating a coin deploys a brand-new liquidity pool on PRJX, which alone costs around 4.4 million gas — well over what a Small Block allows. There's no way around this; it's a limit of the pool contract itself, not something Hyprism controls.
A regular buy or sell needs nowhere near that much gas. Left on Big Blocks after launching, every trade would wait up to a minute for the next Big Block — switching back to Small Blocks brings that down to about a second.
If switching fails with "User or API Wallet does not exist", your wallet has never touched HyperCore (Hyperliquid's own trading layer, separate from HyperEVM). Fix this once:
1Open app.hyperliquid.xyz and connect the same wallet
2Deposit or receive any amount of an asset there (e.g. USDC)
3Come back here — switching will now work
Switch to Big Blocks, then go to the Launch page.
Switch to Small Blocks for instant buys and sells.
